Whether your dog is coming for a day or a fortnight there is a strict procedure which must be followed before they can be booked in.
- You will need to bring your dog for a meeting at my home. This is very important as it is essential to make sure that your dog is comfortable mixing with other dogs and that you are happy with my environment. This also gives you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have. If everything goes well, I will give you some registration forms to fill in and return to me on your dog’s first visit.
- For stays longer than 3 nights, your dog will need to come for a trial stay (chargeable) just to make sure they are happy away from home and that there are no unforeseen issues.
- Once the trial stay has been completed and both you and I are happy, we can book your pup in for their holidays! (believe me, it’s as much a holiday for them as it is for you!)
When you bring your dog for their stay you will need to bring:
- Food – it is always best for your dog to stick to the food they are used to.
- Crate (if they use one at home) – I don’t use crates unless the dog is used to sleeping in one.
- Forms – This is very important as it is a legal requirement that I keep up to date records.
- Vaccination record – It is essential that your dog is vaccinated. I am not allowed to board them if they are not.
- Dog – don’t forget your dog!
WHAT NOT TO BRING!
- Bowls – I have thousands of them and yours is likely to get lost amongst them!
- Leads – I have special leads I use for group walking. Please bring your dog’s harness if they have one.
- Toys & Balls – bring them at your own risk, remember, this is a group environment and I cannot guarantee ‘little bunny’s safety!
- Beds – I can’t guarantee the safety of your expensive bed, I will provide comfortable bedding for your dog.
